Our products are made in the United States and their sizes are given in inches. If you think in centimetres, that makes it hard to picture how big something is. This page converts every size we sell, so you can check it against your wall with a metric tape.
The quick conversion
- 1 inch = 2.54 centimetres.
- To turn inches into centimetres, multiply by 2.54.
- To turn centimetres into inches, divide by 2.54.
- A rough version for your head: multiply inches by 2.5. So 20 inches is about 50 cm.
- 1 foot is 12 inches, or 30.5 cm.
Sizes are written width × height. The figures below are rounded to the nearest centimetre.

How our sizes compare with A sizes
Outside North America, paper comes in the A series. Our sizes don't match it exactly. The nearest are:

If you are framing a poster yourself
This matters most for buyers outside the United States. Frames sold in metric sizes don't always fit prints cut in inches.

Three ways round it:
- Buy a frame sold in inches. Many shops stock them, and they are easy to find online.
- Use a larger frame with a mount. A framer, or a shop that cuts mounts, will cut the opening to your print. It looks smarter as well.
- Choose a canvas or a framed poster. Both arrive ready to hang, and the question doesn't arise.

Common walls and furniture, in both units
- Hanging height: centre of the art at 57 to 60 inches, or 145 to 152 cm, from the floor.
- Gap above furniture: 6 to 10 inches, or 15 to 25 cm.
- Gap between frames: 2 to 4 inches, or 5 to 10 cm.
- A three-seat sofa: about 84 inches, or 213 cm. Art width 140 to 160 cm.
- A double bed (UK double, 135 cm): art width 90 to 100 cm.
- A king bed (UK king, 150 cm; US queen, 152 cm): art width 100 to 115 cm.
